Please Welcome Your Guest Host: Debbie Owen

Dear Roadmap Blog Writers,

As you probably all know by now, I’ll be leaving for Australia and Bali in just a couple of days, and I’ll be gone for a month. During that time, I will have limited email access and want to concentrate any time I spend online creating a wonderful blog of my travels for you (and others) to enjoy. You can subscribe to that here.

So although you will keep getting your weekly prompts and this community will continue to be open to you, I will not be moderating the comments or personally responding to your writing during my travels.

Instead, I’ve asked long-time student and Roadmap community member, Debbie Owen, to be a guest moderator in my absence. She will be the one welcoming new posters, commenting on everyone’s posts and overseeing things while I’m gone.

So please welcome Debbie as your host.

Here’s a great big thank you from me for watching over this flock of writers while I’m away!

Warmly,

Laura

P.S. I hope to read all of your comments on the Virtual Vacation blog, too. I hope to have enough wifi to not just post, but to read your comments, too! But I know won’t have the time to respond; I’ll be too busy working on the next post.

But know, as is true for most writers, I love a responsive audience-so please respond!

You can subscribe to email updates for the Virtual Vacation, my travel blog, by clicking on the link at the top of this page that says, “The Virtual Vacation” and then sign up specifically for that list on the sign up box on that page.

Now here’s this week’s Roadmap post:

“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.”

–Katharine Hepburn.

Tell me about a time you broke the rules—and had fun.

    Laura,

It is such a honor to be able to serve this community as guest moderator. It, and all those who contribute here, have given me so much!
And it is a pleasure to be able to contribute to your wonderful adventure in this small way. I will be living vicariously, along with everyone else, as you share with us through the virtual vacation.

We will miss your presence on the blog for a few weeks – but are so glad you are taking this time for exploration on so many levels.

    Safe Travels,

    Debbie

      Patti -

Thank you. I still vividly remember my joy and relief to find this online community. It has grown a bit since then but has retained that welcoming spirit that initially drew me.

I look forward to getting to know all of the talented writers on this blog in Laura’s absence.

      Write on!

Sorry, but the new prompt on the right seems to have disappeared…where shall I post to it?

    Debbie,

I just want to thank you for stepping up in Laura’s absence. I have not written my piece yet but look forward to reading your comments and your own post if you choose to do one. Welcome back. I’ve missed you.

Welcome Debbie it’s good to know we’re going to be watched over whilst Laura is travelling

    • Debbie says

Thanks Deb. This group is full of gifted writers – so I am not really sure who is watching over who!

  6. Judy says

Welcome Debbie! Great to have you here during Laura’s trip. What a wonderful quote from Hepburn and a great prompt. Writing could go in any direction but thinking silly and fun.

    • Debbie says

Thanks for the welcome Judy. I am already totally enjoying the great writing and stories this week.
