My New Art Kit!

I’m enjoying wandering around Madrid during these few preparatory days before the official start of our retreat. I went to the Prado today to drink in art for a few hours with my co-leader Andre. She and Brenda and I are meeting every day to go over last minute details. Our group starts arriving tomorrow and the official start of the retreat is the day after.

I’m teaching writing at this retreat and Brenda is teaching, sketching and watercolor and the result will be a personalized Travel Journal that each participant will create on the go. I know nothing about drawing and have barely held a watercolor brush since I was a child, but Brenda gave me my art kit today. She has made one of these for each participant.

After a long day, I took a shower, did some hand washing, crawled into my hotel room bed and opened up the kit and started examining all the things inside. I don’t know what we’re going to do with all of these supplies but I feel like a little kid. I am so excited that I’m going to get to draw and be a complete beginner at it!
